I know we have talked about it to the point of almost running it into the ground since Peyton Manning signed with the Denver Broncos in March, but talk is cheap. Tomorrow night Manning will take the field for the first time in orange and blue in a game that actually counts. No one knows for sure what Manning will bring to the Broncos, but we all know that good or bad it is something that will forever be talked about.

I know some may see it differently, but to me a color is a color, a team is a team, and a number is a number. Society has now allowed a bunch of thugs to take ownership of those things and as a result some school kids aren't even able to show support for their favorite football teams or players. I always used to dread that one aunt who would always get me a calender for Christmas. The problem was it was always pictures of giraffes or trees, and quite frankly I didn't want to look at those things everyday for a whole year. As a kid I remember going to Denver Broncos Training Camp a few times when the team was still using the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley as their home for camp. But a number of years back, the team moved camp to their headquarters in Denver at Dove Valley. Since then it really wasn't a thought to go all the way to Denver to watch practice (we talkin' bout practice after all). But, our new 36 year old quarterback will make a lot of people (including me) do a lot of things they wouldn't normally do. Yes, I drove almost two hours to watch practice, and yes it was wonderful!

Sure, the Tim Tebow era is over now in Denver and it is a bit of a touchy issue now. Some are still hanging on like a creepy boyfriend after a breakup and others act like Tebow is Satan himself. It used to be an everyday thing in the summer that the Denver Broncos were hanging out in Greeley. Times have changed, and now it's rare to have the Broncos in town. That rare opportunity occurs today as the Broncos will arrive in Greeley today as part of their Broncos Country Caravan 2012 tour through Colorado which began in in Trinidad in May. As part of their tour, the team will make appearances at the Rodarte Community Center, Sports Authority and then culminate the event at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) Nottingham Field.
